On Nov. 18, 2010, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an attempted arson at a residence on Old Blount’s Creek Road, Chocowinity.

A resident reported someone attempted to burn the home during a dispute. The findings from an investigation were presented to a Beaufort County grand jury. After reviewing the case, the grand jury issued a true bill of indictment charging Michael Dale Williams, 34, of Old Blount’s Creek Road, with one count of attempted first-degree arson.

Williams was arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office on Friday and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
