Could the city publish the day and time, on a month-by-month basis, on when it estimates it will hit its peak-load demand? Knowing this schedule would allow Washington Electric Utilities customers to voluntarily reschedule their own personal use and times of running washing machines, dishwashers, air conditioners, dryers and the like. This would save the cost of installing load-management devices in the homes.
Having load management installed may be of no cost to Washington Electric Utilities customers, but it is definitely not free.
Why did the Beaufort County commissioners go to Deadwood in Martin County to say goodbye to Paul Spruill? We have plenty of nice restaurants in Beaufort County.
I am glad that the City of Washington is providing a Fourth of July celebration.
Thank you to the man in the red truck who stopped on Cherry Road the other morning to offer his assistance when I was trying to get my 13-year-old dog out of the middle of the road. The dog had been struck by a car and killed. I am so appreciative for him and his compassion.
With the economy the way it is, the county commissioners need to stop the search for a county manager and hire Jim Chrisman. We don’t need a county manager and an assistant manager at this time.
