Mrs. Fannie T. Wainwright

Mrs. Fannie Mae Tetterton Wainwright, a former resident of 1039 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Ridgewood Manor in Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, from the chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington conducted by the Revs. Jerry Stroh and Steve Dail. Burial will follow in Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinetown.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Jerry Boyd, Herman Grissom Jr., Christopher Lewis, Jesse Wainwright Jr., William Wainwright, Dustin Hardison and Cameron Hardison.

Kim Mitchell, Dorothy Hardison, Celeste Wainwright, Heather Lewis and C. J. Wainwright will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Wainwright was born in Pinetown on Jan. 3, 1922. She was the daughter of the late James Oliver Tetterton and Nora Caroline Watson Tetterton. Mrs. Wainwright was a homemaker.

In 1938, she married Floyd Earl Wainwright, who preceded her in death in 1976.

Mrs. Wainwright is survived by three sons, Billy Jack Wainwright and Glenn Edward Wainwright, both of Grimesland, Floyd Henry Wainwright of Washington; one daughter, Linda Faye Wainwright Alligood of Washington; two sisters, Nelva Hardison of Washington, Marie Edwards of Vanceboro; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Wainwright was preceded in death by two daughters, Fannie Earl Wainwright and Elizabeth Wainwright Grissom; and two sons, Jesse James Wainwright and Bobby Ray Wainwright.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of her son, Billy Jack Wainwright, 2557 N.C. Highway 33 West, Grimesland.
