Mr. John Robert “Johnny” Gregory, age 58, a resident of 2180 Pike Road, Pantego, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Autumnfield Rest Home of Belhaven.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Davis Cemetery of Pantego officiated by Scott Askew.

John was born in Norfolk County, Va., on May 24, 1953. He was son of the late Vernon Lee Gregory and the late Martha Dunn Gregory. He was a 1971 graduate of Pantego High School. John was a respected and highly requested crane operator.

He loved music, enjoyed riding his Harley and practicing martial arts in which he obtained his black belt. John attended Wenona Church of Christ and Union Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include John’s brother: Paul W. Gregory of Chesapeake, Va.; a special young boy: Zachary, who John considered as his adopted son and a host of many friends.

Family and friends will gather following the service at Union Grove Church of Christ.
