Mr. Thad “Timmy” Timothy Gaskins, age 64, a resident of 312 Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity, N.C., died at his home Saturday, July 16, 2011. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Henry Horne. The family received friends Monday, July 18, 2011, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 15th Street Church of God in Washington.

Mr. Gaskins was born in Beaufort County, the son of the late Garland Benjamin Gaskins and Elsie Clark Gaskins who survives. Timmy, as he was called by his friends, graduated from Chocowinity High School. He worked with Weyerhaeuser Company for 16 years and Hatteras Yachts in New Bern for 13 years.

Mr. Gaskins is survived by his mother, Elsie Mae Clark Gaskins of Chocowinity, one son Scott Gaskins and Joy Davis of Washington, a sister Sandra Daniels and husband Jeffrey of Aurora, N.C.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Curtis Gaskins.
