Only hospital board members Hood Richardson and Alice Mills Sadler could believe that after losing $2.5 million and then $3.5 million that the only problem is that they did not start soon enough. September cannot come too soon.

Bartow: I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your column. You have to be in our age group to appreciate Kugler Field. We had some good times out there. Hot, cold — didn’t even know it. It was fun and wonderful, and I, too, thank Mr. and Mrs. Kugler. And, thank you. Keep writing!

I am very excited about what is happening on the waterfront. Thanks to the Tomasulo family for making the playground possible. All kids will get to enjoy it. That is a great thing.
