On June 13, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny that occurred on Mary’s Chapel Church Road in Edward.
The victim reported various pieces of metal were missing from his property. As the result of an investigation, the sheriff’s office recovered the metal from a recycling company in Vanceboro.
As a result, Investigator Robert Gaskins obtained warrants charging David Stilley Jr., 49, of N.C. Highway 33 East, Edward, with two counts of obtaining property by false pretense and two counts of misdemeanor larceny. Stilley was arrested Saturday and confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.
