Tideland Electric Membership Corp. will conduct a planned outage of its Mattamuskeet substation Wednesday while crews work on the new Ponzer substation.

Power will be turned off Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. and restored no later than 3 a.m. Thursday.

Approximately 2,100 homes and businesses in Swan Quarter, Engelhard and Fairfield are within the planned-outage area. Homes west of the Swan Quarter bypass and east of Engelhard, including Dare County, will not be affected.
