Beaufort County Medical Center was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in patient care. To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream Research in 2010, scored in the 75th percentile or higher and surveyed a minimum of 100 patients. Beaufort County Medical Center was chosen for receiving the highest ratings in overall outpatient satisfaction from among HealthStream Research’s clients, as well as exceeding industry standards.

Commenting on the awards, J. Edward Pearson, president of HealthStream Research, said, “We applaud Beaufort County Medical Center’s high level of commitment to excellence in health care — and we are pleased to recognize their achievement through our presentation of an Excellence through Insight award.”

Polly Birdsong, director of surgical services at Beaufort County Medical Center, is proud of the staff’s accomplishment. “The focus of our outpatient and endoscopy staff is patient and family centered care. It is wonderful for not only our department but also the hospital to receive such a prestigious award,” Birdsong said.
