Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hope Jr. of Washington, N.C., announce the birth of their daughter Alyssa Nichole Hope on July 8, 2011, at Beaufort County Medical Center.

Alyssa weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 19 1/4 inches long. The mother is the former Chelsie Woolard.

Maternal grandparents are Grace C. Woolard and Gary L. Woolard, both of Washington.

Paternal grandparents are Meghan and Ray Hope Sr., of Washington.

Great-grandparents are Mrs. Lillian Cox and Robert Kirby.
