Rev. Dallas Eugene Pinkham

Rev. Dallas Eugene Pinkham, a resident of Pinetown, N.C., went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, July 31, 2011.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Sidney Free Will Baptist Church, located at 5580 Sidney Road, Belhaven, and will be officiated by the Rev. David Pooser. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bennie Ambrose, Larry Sullivan,  his nephews: Chad and Dustin Pinkham, Shane Boyd, Seth Narron and Troey DeHoog; and  great nephew: Austin Van Nobles, will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Sidney FWB Church, as well as friends, Charles Hardison and Raymond Lagcher.

Rev. Dallas Eugene Pinkham

Dallas was born in Pinetown, N.C., on Feb. 19, 1945, son of the late William Howell Pinkham and Edith Gertrude Boyd Pinkham, who survives. He was a graduate of Bath High School and Mount Olive College.

Dallas served his country in the Army Honor Guard in Washington, D.C., during the Vietnam War. He worked various jobs including Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth and was an ordained Original Free Will Baptist minister for approximately 25 years. He last served at Trinity Original Free Will Baptist Church in Pungo. On Oct. 17, 1996, he married the former Rebecca Gail Parrish who survives.

In addition to his wife, Gail of the home and his mother, Edith, he is survived by his sons, Benjamin Howell Pinkham of the home, Aaron Bradley Pinkham and fiancée, Jessy Branch of Greenville; his daughter, Christy Lynn Pinkham Smith of Washington, and three grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers: Judy Pinkham Narron (Jerry) of Bayview, Wayne Pinkham (Connie) of Pinetown, Larry Pinkham (Dawn) of Pinetown, Peggy Pinkham Noble (Bob) of Washington, numerous nieces and nephews, Aunt Charlotte Pinkham Bell and a very dear Aunt Icelean Wynne (Frank) both of Washington.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Sidney Free Will Baptist Church and other times at the home of his mother, located at 2347 N. White Post Road, Pinetown.
