Beaufort County Schools will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday to review the school system’s newly revised Internet safety and acceptable use policy for staff and students.

The revision was necessary because of the increasing integration of computer technology in grades K-12.

The meeting will be held at the Beaufort County Schools’ central services building, 321 Smaw Road, Washington (just off U.S. Highway 264) in the Beaufort County Board of Education’s meeting room.

Parents of BCS students are encouraged to attend the meeting, during which it will be explained why it is important that everyone understand the expanding role of technology in education and the school system’s attempt to educate and protect students.
