Robert Kyle Probert

Mr. Robert K. Probert, age 78, a resident of Long Ridge Road, Pinetown, NC passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home. A private memorial service will be held at the home at a later date.

Mr. Probert was born on June 12, 1933 in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Robert Albert Probert and former Hulda Jane Turbush. He married the former Barbara Ann Kummerlen on June 30, 1962, who survives. Prior to living in Pinetown, NC he was a resident of Diamond, OH. He worked at Alcoa and Mondie Forge in Cleveland, OH and also drove trucks for Air Products and TRW for 26 years. He and his wife also ran the Lake Side Tavern in Lake Milton for 22 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading Political History books.

Mr. Probert served in the United State Army.

Along with his wife, Barbara, Mr. Probert is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Allan Probert of Pinetown, NC and Brian Arthur Probert of Sparks, NV; one sister, Emma Lehman of Niles, OH; two brothers, Frank John Probert of Titusville, FL and Paul James Probert of Wythville, VA; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Kolar.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown St., Washington, NC  27889 or Community Home Care and Hospice, 814 Washington Plaza, Washington, NC  27889.
