With all these liberal cartoons you are printing, I think you might lose a bunch of customers.

Economics 105: If your money is in a 401(k), you don’t get the return in the bank that you will in the stock market, but in the bank you don’t lose your investment, either. Survival will be tough this winter and your gamble probably won’t pay anyone any benefits except your employer.

Economics 105: It matters not how or why your money ends up in the stock market. The fact remains it is still gambling. I don’t care how or why, just quit bellyaching to me that you have lost a little bit.

I think columnist Walter Williams needs to run for president. His Sunday column was great.

I respectfully disagree with the Washington Daily News’ editorial about the Tar River Nature Park. The city can’t properly take care of the facilities it has now, and you want to endorse building another park? How are we going to take care of these things? Raise taxes?

We need to tax the rich and spend more to get the U.S. back on its feet, and laying off government employees only makes things much worse. The one and only thing to do is get more jobs, not reduce spending on education and other very necessary programs.

Thank you for adding Gary Ceres’ column to your newspaper. I look forward to reading it each week. I am happy this bright and gifted business owner is a part of our community.
