Food distribution

The Red Cross will be providing mobile feeding units within designated areas in Beaufort County.

Residents who have specific needs for food or cleaning kits may place their requests through the local Red Cross hotline at 946-4110.

Residents may also pick up nonperishable food items at Eagle’s Wings in Washington from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Tetanus shots

Tetanus shots will be provided to residents of the Pamlico Beach area at Life Gate

Free Will Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Donations needed

The following items are needed for Hurricane Irene victims and may be dropped off at

Eagle’s Wings from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Saturday: baby formula, diapers, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, personal hygiene items, paper goods, cleaning supplies, pet food, laundry soap, rubber gloves, mosquito dunks and repellent and any nonperishable foods.
