Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Many residents — elderly, handicapped, new to the area and others — have never experienced storm damage such as Hurricane Irene, and they have no idea what to do (such as finding help in taking down trees, cleanup assistance, craftsmen and more to help with damage claims and repairs). Is there a central listing area for city or county residents to assist them?

Hopefully, whatever was on page 8A in Saturday’s paper was not important because this page was mostly black.

To the narcissistic person who thinks the DOT revolves around him or her: Last time I checked, there were more than 50,000 people who lived in Beaufort County.
