Community Resource Connections begins its Beaufort County operations Sept. 20 at First Church of Christ, 520 E. 10th St., Washington.

CRC is a collaborative program designed to help senior citizens and people with disabilities have better access to information, referrals and various types of services.

“The goal of the CRC is for there to be no wrong door for seniors and people with disabilities to find services. All the agencies will be connected, allowing for easy-to-access services,” said Debbie Ryals, coordinator of Pitt/Beaufort CRC.

CRC is part of a federal and state plan to reduce the confusion that people have experienced in trying to find services, often resulting in making multiple telephone calls and traveling between agencies before receiving help. Through formal agreements made with aging and disability partners throughout Pitt and Beaufort counties, CRC offers a well-organized approach to finding and using services.

“The upcoming launches will provide information to the community about trustworthy and vital services. We hope the CRC will give community residents one place to access all the information they need,” Ryals said.
