Tonight’s Music in the Streets festival has been called off due to rain.

A 70-percent chance of rain was forecast for later tonight, said Beth Byrd, executive director of the Washington Harbor District Alliance, which organizes the festival.

Byrd said she couldn’t ask the musicians who take part in MITS to risk their equipment in damp conditions.

MITS will resume next month.

The festival runs from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. every third Friday from April through October.
