On Aug. 21, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault involving two victims that occurred at a nightclub on U.S. Highway 17 South in Chocowinity. The two victims were treated and released from the Beaufort Hospital for knife wounds. The sheriff’s office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews.
As a result of the investigation, Investigator Rob Voliva applied for and obtained warrants charging Chiquetha Blount, 28, of Concord Drive in Greenville, with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. On Sept. 16, Blount was arrested by the Washington Police Department and brought before Magistrate Sadler. Blount was given a $10,000 secured bond and confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center.
