Mr. Lewis Edward Woolard Jr., age 56, a resident of 4461 Privacy Lane, Washington, N.C., died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at University Health Systems Inpatient Hospice of Greenville.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington with a funeral service following at 7 p.m. Sunday officiated by Derik Davis. Pallbearers will be Mark Stevens, Cody Woolard, Patrick Clark, Barry Clark, Michael Nobles and Derrick Ingalls.
Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 10, 1954, son of the late Lewis E. Woolard Sr. and the late Margie Sheppard Woolard. He married the former Karen Denise Case on Dec. 24, 2010, who survives. Mr. Woolard was owner and operator of Tarheel Landscaping until his retirement.
Mr. Woolard is survived by his wife Karen of Myrtle Beach; two sons: LU Jack Woolard and his companion Heather Nicole Davenport and Daniel Lee Williams of Wilmington; a daughter: Alison Renae Woolard and her companion Jeffrey Lynn Cannon of Greenville; a stepson: Will Cutler of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a stepdaughter: Sabrina Clawson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two brothers: Oscar Woolard and his wife Cathy of Washington and James Woolard of Washington; five sisters: Inez Boyd and her husband H.E. of Pinetown, Betty Lou Ingalls and her husband Alton of Washington, Christine Clark and her husband Dumay of Chocowinity, Erma Nobles and her companion Dennis Smith of Washington and Margie Stevens of Washington; six grandchildren: Marie, Madison, Hannah, T.J., Anthony and William and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Woolard was preceded in death along with his parents by a sister: Myrtle Ruth Hollis.
