Mr. Leon Lane Temple, age 97, a resident of Spring Arbor Assisted Living, Greenville, NC and formerly of Arlington, VA passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011. A private graveside service will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, VA.
Mr. Temple was born on September 23, 1914 in Sunbury, NC, son of the late Mark H. Temple and Coral Lane Temple. He was married to the former Frances Thompson who proceeded him in death. Leon was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. He was a member of the Model A Ford Club and a Mason in the Cherry Dale, VA lodge. Leon was employed as an engineer with the government.
Mr. Temple is survived by his sons, Ronald Lane Temple of Arlington, VA and Donald Lee Temple of Bath, NC; a sister, Leanna Marie Jones of Hampton, VA; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
