In October of 1950, she married Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Parrott, her loving husband of almost 61 years, who survives her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Franklin Gray Parrott and his wife Yen; son Kenneth Ray Parrott and his wife Tara Gayle Hunsucker; and her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Michelle Parrott.

Cecilia was the ultimate caregiver during her life, always placing the well-being of others above her own. She truly cared for and loved all her family, both those deceased and those surviving. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who were touched by her love and her life.

During her long life, Cecilia also lived in Virginia, New Mexico, Alabama, Florida and Texas but she always considered North Carolina to be her home. Her wish to return home to rest with her family will be honored with a graveside service at Providence United Methodist Cemetery in Chocowinity at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. Polly Taylor officiating. Special music will be provided by Joe Stringer and Pat Waters. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
