Celebrating Independence

As sisters Toree and Heather Mayo arrive at Chocowinity Primary School, they are greeted by Principal Alicia Vosburgh on Sept. 22, which CPS celebrated as “Independence Day.” The day was a way to encourage students to walk to their respective classrooms without their parents, a big step toward independence. The arrival area was decorated with red, white and blue balloons and streamers. Each student received a star in celebration of his or her independence. (Submitted Photo/BCS)
