Roli was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 18, 1949, son of the late Dr. R. F. Engelhardt and Velma Cutler Engelhardt. He was a graduate of Washington High School and Harrell’s Hair Design and Institute. Roli had a very extensive career in hair design working most recently with his special friend Kathy Moore at Inner Banx Styling Team. He was owner and operator of multiple shops in Greenville, and also worked in Southern Pines and Rocky Mount. Roli was not only known for his ability as a hairstylist but also for his ability to entertain his clients. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Chocowinity.
Roli is survived by his “baby sister” Lisa Engelhardt Clark and husband Bobby of Chocowinity; his extended family, Radell and Charlie Rasmussen and their children, Emma and Ashlee, of Washington; Walter “Walt” Clark of Washington; his “other sister” Brenda Hoehn of Chocowinity; various cousins and special caring family and staff at “Autumn Fields” of Belhaven.
Roli was a unique and beloved child of God, with a creative and stylish spirit. One would say that Roli had a very “colorful” personality and all that truly knew him grew to love him.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 332, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
