Beaufort County American Legion Auxiliary Unit 15 will sponsor a Veterans Day service at 11 a.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Park on East Third Street in Washington.

The service will be a tribute to veterans, current military personnel and POWs/MIAs.

Jerry Cobb, veterans specialist with the N.C. Employment Security Commission office in Washington, will be the guest speaker. Members of the Washington High School JROTC will advance the colors. Other participants will include the Rev. Robert Cayton, Bartow Houston, Betty Ross and other auxiliary members.

The service is open to the public. In case of rain, the service will be held at American Legion Post 15 on American Legion Road.
