On Oct. 20, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny at a residence on Core Point Road in Blount’s Creek. The victim reported her vehicle had been stolen from her yard.

Responding deputies obtained information the vehicle had been sold as scrap metal at a recycling business in Vanceboro.

As a result of an investigation, Investigator Robert Gaskins obtained warrants charging Clyde Ray Moore, 51, of Core Point Road, Blount’s Creek, with one count of larceny of a motor vehicle and one count of obtaining property under false pretense.

Moore was arrested Tuesday. He was released under a $3,000 unsecured bond.
