John Dillon Mobley, age 73, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Mobley was born on Oct. 1, 1938, in Martin County, to the late Earl Mobley and Elizabeth Taylor Mobley. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1996 with 25 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. On June 6, 1969, he married Jean Scott Mobley, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Mobley is survived by two daughters, Dawn Henzel and husband Joe of Williamsburg, Va., and Tracy Myers of Williamsburg, Va.; his brother, Elton Mobley of Everetts; grandchildren, Heather, Daniel, Victoria, Bridget, and Jessica; 8 great-grandchildren; and special nieces, Susan Wynn and Elaine Gaskin. He was preceded in death by sisters Edna Earl Leggett and Jean Harrison.
Visitation will be held at Biggs Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday and other times at the home.
