Mrs. Maria Antoinette Asby, age 58, a resident of 1219 Indian Island Road, Aurora, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church, 462 Tunstall Swamp Road, Aurora, and will be officiated by pastor Phillip Lewis. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 6:30 p.m. until the service hour.

Maria was born July 19, 1953, in Corona, Calif. She graduated from high school in Carteret County.

Mrs. Asby is survived by her husband, Arthur Asby, of Aurora; one son, Richard Aaron Kerr of Newport; her mother, Betty Bishop of Cape Carteret; three brothers, David McCracken and Scott McCracken, both of Jacksonville, and Ray Bishop Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one sister, Debra Chadwick of Marshallberg.
