I think it’s a great idea to put future inmates on the jail-selection committee.
I attended a wedding Monday under the big pavilion at Festival Park. The park area is absolutely beautiful. The landscaping and the walkways are beautiful. We need to thank our City Council and park committee. It is one of the most beautiful park areas I have been in along the eastern coast of North Carolina.
Your Nov. 16 issue indicates the U.S. Postal Service lost $5 billion this past year. A recent Gene Lyons column indicated UPSP has not lost money for several years. Can the WDN tell us who is lying?
The $25,000 offer for our old City Hall is ludicrous. It is an insult to our local intelligence. We should keep it. The economy will improve, and we will find a way to preserve our town’s history without giving it away.
If the people of Smallwood would teach their children to play in the yard rather than in the street, you wouldn’t need four-way stops or a 25-mph speed limit.
