Patricia Nance Harris, 61, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Her brother, pastor James Griffin, will be officiating.

Patricia taught Elementary school for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Nance, her birth parents, James and Letchie Griffin, and a sister, Wanda Horton.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Malvia “Mel” Harris Jr.; daughter, Megan E. Harris; son, Jason L. Harris and fiancé Kipling Garner; sisters, Elaine Zirkle and husband Al, Janet K. Werner, Diane Graham and husband Steven, and Ruth “Bunny” Griffin and husband Tommy; brothers, John Nance Jr. and wife Susan, James “Jerry” Griffin and wife Brenda, James “Raymond” Griffin and wife Marilyn, Glenn R. Griffin and wife Eileen, and her dog “Boo Boo”.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, and other times at the home, 36 Knob Creek Way, Garner.
