Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

The reason Beaufort County is a Tier 1 county is because there is no lower rating and the fact that voters are required to use a voting system that should have gone out with bell-bottom pants. As long as voters are forced to use restricted voting, we will continue to elect officials who should have their pictures posted next to the definition of demigod.

I just picked up my paper this morning and I was wondering who in their right mind would pay $.50 for the size of these papers?

Folks, I know you have all seen the no-littering signs along the highways. Every year, these cotton-hauling trucks litter hundred of miles of highways. Why isn’t law enforcement ticketing these offenders, and, please, don’t tell me it is biodegradable. That does not fly.

Somebody needs to address the problem and the timetable in reference to our Board of Commissioners meeting.
