Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
We have been reading the articles on the proposed wind farm and proposed sulfur plant.
How can children be recruited as blood donors on high-school campuses and donate without parental consent?
I agree with the letter from Maurice Manning from Pantego. I have worked on thousands of windmills for GE all over Texas. Never have I ever seen a dead bird around any of them. I have seen birds fly up to them. One thing you don’t want is a gas turbine because exhaust is so hot.
I live in a home that has been flooded many times. What is the deal with FEMA buying your home out or the county hazard mitigation? I don’t want to raise it because it is a piece of junk. Will any agency buy it out from you?
Regarding the Sound Off comment comparing the Navy OLF and the windmills: It is not 1918. It is 2011. It makes money. You got workers, fuels, etc., and everyone has to work. I think it would be best for the economy since you don’t have an economy around here.
