Jerry Lee Boyd, Sr.

Mr. Jerry Lee Boyd, Sr., age 74, a resident of 1686 Dan Taylor Road, Washington died Friday, December 16, 2011 at UHS Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Old Ford Church of Christ, 6040 U.S. Hwy 17 North, Washington, conducted by Eddie Bowen and Thomas Hamilton. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on January 19, 1937. He was the son of the late Seaphus and Rena Heath Boyd. Mr. Boyd served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a mechanic at National Spinning and later in shift service at Texasgulf. After his retirement, Mr. Boyd played golf every chance he could. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Morgan, play ball. Mr. Boyd was a member of the Old Ford Church of Christ and an honorary member of the Old Ford Ruritan Club.
On July 11, 1959, Mr. Boyd married the former Margie Manning, who survives.
Surviving with his wife, Margie, are his “children;” son, Jerry Lee Boyd, Jr. and his wife, Terry, their daughter, Morgan and his dog, Sissy all of the home; and sister, Janet Tolston of Washington.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his sister, Irmadale Ingalls.
The family would like to like to send out a “Special Thank You” to their family and friends for their love, compassion, care, visits, and prayers for the past few years.
