Eva Kathryn Camp Pressey, age 97, a former resident of 571 Newland Road, Roper, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation of Plymouth.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Billy Ray Askew. Interment will be held later at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville, Pa.

Mrs. Pressey was born in Crawford County, Pa., on July 19, 1914, daughter of the late George Orlando Camp and the late Flora Estella Polly Camp. She married Edgar William Pressey who preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Pressey was a bus driver for Crawford County Government and her church in Meadville. She was a member of Terra Ceia Church of Christ and the senior citizens club in Plymouth.

Mrs. Pressey is survived by a son, Arnold Pressey and wife Bette of Roper; two daughters, Joyce Tovell of Carrboro, and Sharon Hunt of Erie, Pa.; a sister, Hazel Lyda of Selma; six grandchildren, Christopher Tovell and wife Kim of Carrboro, Robin Toubal and husband Ali of Long Island, N.Y., Deborah Broyles and husband Greg of Kill Devil Hills, Kenneth Pressey and wife Joan of Raleigh, Paul Pressey and wife Sue of Winterville, and Joseph Cribbs and wife Sonya of Saginaw, Mich.; and 10 great–grandchildren. Mrs. Pressey was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Stull and Miriam Tidd.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
