Frances Forbes Klass Holton

Frances Forbes Klass Holton, 86, a former resident of Plymouth, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at UHS–Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

She was born in Washington on April 9, 1925, to S. B. and Mary Swain Forbes. She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Donald C. Holton of Washington. Also surviving are a son, Gus Holton and wife Ann Ryan of Flagstaff, Ariz., and a daughter-in-law, Mary Holton of Las Vegas, Nev. Eldest son, Eric Holton, died in 2010.

Frances was formerly married to William R. Klass who preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1995.

She was admired and loved by family and friends and always had an encouraging word for everyone she met. Having no children of her own, she was loved and looked up to as a mother by many children in the neighborhood. Frances will always be remembered as a pet lover. She loved and nurtured many sick pets back to health. In recent years, she was a member of Ponzer Ruritan Club. Frances was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship of Plymouth, which she loved dearly, and was very involved as a Sunday school teacher and promoted home visitation and Bible study.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Pamlico County at the Holton family cemetery near Olympia. Pastor Avis Hammond will be officiating the service.

Friends may visit with the family following the service or at other times at their home in Washington at 208 Iron Creek Drive.
