Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

You need to read Kathy Lopez’s column in the Dec. 27 edition of the Daily News. It will make you think of Christmas in a different light. We have a lot of freedom in the United States and a lot to be thankful for.

Paul Spruill should have a thundering round of applause for a job well done!

Why can’t we have an article in the Washington Daily News showing a picture of Blount’s Creek with the exact location of where the quarry will be?

Blount’s Creek is not just a body of water. It is a way of life and for this mining operation to change the body of water to fresh water would eliminate so many of the things that we residents along Blount’s Creek can take advantage of. No more dolphins chasing fish, eagles looking for fish or crabs. It would be a very sad state of affairs if the nature of Blount’s Creek is altered.

In regards to cats downtown: It looks like we are infested with wild animals. It reminds me of the rats in New York City. If these cat lovers love these cats, then let them love the cats at their own house. An ordinance is an ordinance. If these cats get too close to my business then I will exterminate the problem.
