Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

This is a message to the cat exterminator who sent a Sound Off on Saturday. The reason New York has rats, if it does, is because there are people like you who have exterminated all the cats in New York that would have solved the problem.

I agree with the caller concerning Macswoods. I live there, and the neighborhood is a mess. The city can’t do it all. Homeowners need to take responsibility for their properties, too. Also, Brownie, thank you for the column on Ray. It brought tears to my eyes.

If you go around exterminating cats, that is a crime. That is animal cruelty, so you will end up in jail or a hefty fine. Plus, why not send a letter to the editor and attach your name so that we can know what business you are protecting from the cats? … If you have a problem, take it up with animal control.

How high are the levies that the residents of Blount’s Creek have built around Blount’s Creek to prevent that toxic fresh water called rainfall from falling into Blount’s Creek? Let’s get some science here, not emotion.
Saturday’s Sound Off about killing cats: That is illegal. Did the caller not know? Animal cruelty, large fines, jail sentence. Why were they so cowardly not to use letters to the editor and put their names on it? Are they afraid it might affect their business? … If I knew who the caller was, I certainly would not go to their business.
