Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Thank you for putting the beginning Sudoku back in the paper.

Cats running in and out of the old buildings downtown is so disgusting. My wife and I have stopped eating at the downtown restaurants. We now go to Chocowinity or Greenville to eat out.

I cannot believe the people of Beaufort County would allow anything to harm the water supply after the Washington and FCX Superfund incidents.

I want to record agreement with Bill Cook on the Racial Justice Act. He omitted one very, very important problem with it. It gives lawyers an opportunity to do injustice to our valued jury system.

What is the deal with this concrete monstrosity, median, whatever it is, on U.S. Highway 264 by Asbury Church Road? It forces you to make a U-turn in traffic. That’s ridiculous. I thought they were supposed to be improving our roads, not making the more complicated.

When our local politicians are contemplating their next political position does it ever dawn on them that they have been totally ineffective in the current one? What’s next? Double ferry rates or the county being split into four voting districts?
