We need toll roads and we need toll ferries. Nothing’s free in this good American land.

Being a lifelong resident of either Martin or Beaufort County, I welcome people from all over the country to move here. They offer a lot, and I have friends from the North. But for our Beaufort County representative to cave in to the Raleigh politicians and even imply that’s how we did it in the North is an insult to our citizens here. Ferries that are free should stay free, Rep. Cook. Represent Beaufort County, not the Raleigh politicians.
