As a part of Beaufort County Schools’ character education program, Chocowinity Middle School students who were nominated for the character traits of kindness and gratitude during December were treated to ice-cream sandwiches at a ceremony Dec. 16.

Dale Cole, CMS principal, read each of the nominations submitted by the students’ teachers and presented each student with a certificate and gift bag. Caleb Petty won the overall middle-school nomination, and Daniel Tippett won the overall elementary-school nomination.

Other students who were nominated in December were Jared Russell, Yahkiel White, Ethan Turnage, Decoda Hollowell, Taylor Miller, Jacob Congleton, Hydeia Willis, Trenaty Wright, Tori Whitley, Dale Cole and Zach Paramore.
