In reference to the lady’s comments made in Sound Off about Bishop Jones and the Project New Hope program: Please get the facts before you make comments.

 

Do you have to pay taxes on any insurance money received for a damaged house during Hurricane Irene?

 

I think Daily Bread and Today’s Meditation should be removed from the paper. This is 2012, not 1912. That space could be better used for editorials, editorial cartoons. Speaking of cartoons, could you not bring your comic-strip page into the 21st century? Could you not have a comic strip that maybe some of younger people would recognize?

 

Police officers riding three to a car in Belhaven doesn’t bother me near as much as a dead possum lying in the middle of the main road into Belhaven for the past week. Our pretty, little town deserves better from the town administration.

 

You people make it really hard to keep buying your paper with all your liberal editorial cartoons and stuff — a lot of negativity toward the Republicans and conservatives.
