Mr. Jason Leo Mills, 38, a resident of 284 Gallberry Road, Washington, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at his home.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakdale Cemetery of Washington, officiated by the Rev. Gary Lewis. Jeff Frazier, Jonathan Frazier, Earl Conner, Robert Conner, Eddie Davis and Paul Winslow Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Jason was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 17, 1973, to the late Danny Lee Mills and Anita Charlene Conner Merritt, who survives. He was a 1991 graduate of Washington High School and was a long time former employee of Pizza Inn of Washington. Jason loved tutoring and helping children and especially loved spending time with the “light of his life,” his son, Conner.
In addition to his mother, Anita Merritt of Washington, Jason is survived by a stepfather, John J. Merritt of Washington; a son, Conner Lee Bolt of Rocky Mount; a brother, David Merritt of Washington; and a sister, Brenda Gail Phelps of Williamston.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home located at 284 Gallberry Road, Washington.
