Lunch-and-learn classes offered

The Beaufort County Health Department is offering heart-healthful lunch-and-learn classes in celebration of Heart Health Month during February and March.
Join Ashley Miller and JaNell Brockett at the Beaufort County Health Department for the classes, which run from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Feb. 21 and ending March 13. Each class will consist of a presentation on heart-healthful topics followed by a short 10-minute physical activity. Bring a packed lunch to the department’s conference room
Those who are interested in attending may come by the department Feb.1 through Feb. 14, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to pick up enrollment packets for the classes. Packets will include a pedometer, walking log and more promotional items. Those who come on the following dates and times receive a free blood-pressure check: Feb. 7, Feb. 14 or Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
