Mr. Philip Emile Brouillet, Jr., age 88, a resident of Chocowinity, N.C., died Friday, February 10, 2012 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, N.C.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church officiated by Father Arturo Cabra. Burial at sea by the U.S. Navy will be conducted at a later date.
Mr. Brouillet was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 28, 1923 to the late Philip Emile Brouillet and Mable Barbara Zipp Brouillet. Mr. Brouillet served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, serving in Okinawa from 1943-45. On February 19, 1988, Mr. Brouillet married the former Rosemary Elizabeth Lynch, who survives. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Mr. Brouillet worked on several large construction projects in the state of New York through his career.  He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (N.S.P.E.). Mr. Brouillet was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church where he was involved with the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
In addition to his wife, Rosemary of the home, Mr. Brouillet is survived by his children: Annette Ortiz and husband Ralph of Long Island, New York, Phil Brouillet and wife Barbara of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jeannine Murphy and husband Ron of Boynton Beach, Florida, Roger Brouillet and wife Jacklynn of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Gregory Brouillet and wife Anita of Long Island, New York, step children; Robert Lynch of Largo, Florida and Raymond Lynch and wife Maureen of West Hempstead, New York, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brouillet was preceded in death by his daughter; Claire Brouillet.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
