LaShay A. Distance and Sherry R. Boone of Washington, NC, announce the birth of their son Kaiden Jameer Distance on Monday, January 16, 2012, at 5:33 p.m., at Beaufort County Hospital (Medical Center).

Kaiden weighed 6 pounds, 2.2 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Verna Mae Howard of Washington and Haywood Boone of Chocowinity.

Paternal grandmother is Dorothy Distance of Washington.

Great-grandparents are the late Carrie and James Woolard.
