We are taxpayers — pay full price for school lunch, but don’t have the extra income for junk food that’s being offered at school, that they are selling. Several students on free and reduced lunch are buying chips and candy bars daily. These parents need to be aware of that. Our system is screwed up.

No, no and no. If they want those buildings repaired and maintained out there in the industrial park, let the Committee of 100 and Tommy Thompson do it. It was their idea why they were put there.

I don’t use the Bayview ferry, either, but I’ve never driven on many roads in North Carolina or elsewhere that my tax money pays for. My suggestion is to give anyone who uses the ferry for work a pass at no cost. Charging for other uses of the ferry should go into effect.

I wonder if Bartow Houston knows just how much he means to his readers. The other day at a gathering, somebody started talking about his article about (songs)… and one person starting singing it and before it was over, the entire group of people was singing that song.
