Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

I would like to say that for all the people interested in Hunter’s Bridge precinct to be at the Board of Elections office at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Let’s see if we can save the Hunter’s Bridge precinct.

This is in response to a comment about Carolina East Medical Associates. Since when did Sound Off become a free publicity column? I do not think that this should be anymore. I do not think that anyone should be able to advertise free. Yes, Dr. Frank Sheldon is there from 8 a.m. to noon, and it is a good service, but I do not think that Carolina East Medical Associates should be allowed to advertise free in Sound Off.

I totally am upset about the closing of Inner Banks Urgent Care. This urgent-care facility was a professional group of people. They treated you with all due respect. They didn’t hurry you in, hurry to get you out. I’ve even had my own family physician send me over there when they were unable to see me. This is going to be such a loss to the Washington area.

All I hear is “Shop locally, shop locally, shop locally.” Well, if Beaufort County would hire locally, hire locally, hire locally — and there are people qualified — we may be more satisfied and shop locally.

In regard to the closing of Inner Banks Urgent Care: the people of Beaufort County and Washington couldn’t rest until Pitt County took over Beaufort County Hospital. Next will be paid parking at the hospital, so the people might as well learn to live with it.

I sure am going to miss Inner Banks Urgent Care. They were also so professional and timely. It was a joy to go there. Now that Vidant Health owns everything, what are your choices? What choice do you have now? You go sit at your regular doctor’s office for an hour, hour and a quarter.
