CE classes for cosmetologists offered

BCCC’s Division of Continuing Education will offer two classes that will give cosmetologists the chance to obtain their yearly, required continuing education credits.

A morning class, “Everything You Need to Know to Formulate Perfect Color (Understanding Hair Color Theory),” will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. An afternoon class, “Highlighting Made Easy,” will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. that same day. Both classes will be conducted in the auditorium of Building 8 on the BCCC campus.

The instructor is Tammy Hetzel with Color Me Correctly. The registration fee is $65 a person and covers both classes.

In “Everything You Need to Know to Formulate Perfect Color,” stylists will develop a strong understanding of color theory and learn how they can use this knowledge to increase their color business. Mastering basic hair-color theory will give them total freedom when using color in creating hair styles. Topics include covering gray hair, removing unwanted tones and promoting color services to every client.

In “Styling Made Easy,” stylists will gain a thorough understanding of foiling and techniques used for creative color placement. They will learn techniques such as freehand highlighting, peek-a-boo highlighting, and formulating the perfect tones. Stylists will also learn techniques like ombré – a gradation of color.

Students will receive 0.4 continuing-education units for each class they attend. Students may attend either class, or both, depending on their needs.

For more information about the course, contact Lou Stout at 252-940-6307. Students may register by calling 252-940-6375 or in person in Room 802 of Building 8 on the BCCC campus.
