Kay Frances Sutton Barbour

Kay was born May 17, 1937, in Pitt County, the daughter of the late Scott Sutton and Maebelle Ormond Sutton. Ms. Barbour rode out a long storm due to her multiple health issues; she was a very strong-minded woman and fighter which made it possible to live life to its fullest. She was known for telling it like it is, but had a heart of gold as she helped a lot of people, even providing them a place to stay if needed. Kay enjoyed listening to John Hagee whom she said also told it like it is, cooking, canning foods, gardening and raising her chickens. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Ms. Barbour is survived by a daughter, Rita Woolard Williams and husband Lacy C. Williams of Washington; a son, Phillip Wayne Woolard of Washington; and a sister, Barbara Sutton Morris of Vanceboro. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd Ray Sutton, Lindsay Jay Sutton and Dalton Ray Sutton; and a sister, Sandra Marie Sutton Davenport.
