As the spouse of a deceased 30-year veteran, we fight daily to keep our benefits. I cannot believe someone would suggest the soldier who killed those civilians be entitled to keep his benefits. He not only is a murderer, but now he has put his fellow soldiers in more danger. We owe him nothing.
As I walked our beautiful waterfront Thursday between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., I was so glad to see they removed the eating benches under the tree by the flagpole. This made room for the person sleeping on the ground with his things. I assume more will follow. At least the birds will not be fed anymore.
I just want to tell you how excited I am to see the beautiful flowers on Highway 17 North. They make the entrance to Washington so beautiful. Thank you, state department, or whoever did it.
I’m not a boater, but I loved your insert “Boating on the Pamlico.” I learned a lot. It was wonderfully done, very educational. Thank you.
